Anime News Network has released a list of the 2009 Top Anime Films in the Japanese Box Office, and Detective Conan: The Raven Chaser was #3 on the list, setting a franchise record for being the highest grossing film, raking in 3.5billion yen ($37.5million). The other top two films were Pokémon: Arceus and the Jewel of Life, which raked in 4.67billion yen ($50.2million) and Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance, raked in 4billion yen ($43million). The Raven Chaser did fairly well in the box office last year, which we suspected it to be the highest grossing DC film in which we were correct.

In the latest file of the Detective Conan manga, File 677, continued the main plot of the series. However, yet again, we got another exciting turn of events in the story around the beginning of a new year. It seems as if Akai Shuichi, who was supposedly killed by Rena Mizunashi couple years ago in the manga, has somehow survived and alive. One possible proof that he's alive is the scar that's along the right-side of his face, which could be scars from fire after his truck exploded from a bomb. But, however, we don't want to really confirm that it's actually him until it is set in stone. This could be another impersonator such as the arc when Shinichi returned around this time last year. We will keep all of you informed in the coming weeks on the latest files of Detective Conan to confirm if Akai is indeed alive or not. |
